POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER APPLICATIONS (PGDCA)

1. Introduction and Fee Structure:

 PGDCA course is being conducted in the Computer Courses, University Department of Mathematics, B. R. Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, Bihar since 2002. The cost of application form for admission is Rs. 250 only. The duration of this course is two semesters and the fee of this course is Rs. 14000 only. The fee has to be deposited in one installment.

2. Lateral Entry in MCA:

 One of the main benefit in taking admission in PGDCA course is that it provides the opportunity to take lateral entry in MCA third semester. Students taking admission in MCA third semester after completing PGDCA will need to appear and clear first and second semester examinations of MCA also. However such students will not have to deposit the fee of first and second semester of MCA. So taking admission in PGDCA provides a money and time saving process for MCA degree.

3. Software Developer Career:

 Another benefit in taking admission in PGDCA course is that its syllabus has been designed from the point of view of development of career of a student as a successful programmer. It covers basic programming languages such as C/C++ as well as modern programming languages such as PHP/MySQL.  From the job point of view, B.Sc.+PGDCA is equivalent to BCA and M.Sc.+PGDCA is MCA. So completion of PGDCA after graduation or master degree provides lot of job opportunities in public as well as private sector.
